North Carolina High School Softball - Murphy held off by Hiwassee Dam

The Hiwassee Dam Eagles got by the visiting Murphy Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Monday's league challenge.

Next up, the Eagles play the Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A game, on Tuesday, April 29. Hiwassee Dam will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Wildcats enter the game with a 1-9 record after their 11-6 league win over Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).

The Bulldogs now own a 10-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hayesville for a Smoky Mountain 1A bout on Tuesday, April 29. Murphy will clash with a Yellowjackets team coming off a 12-1 league loss to Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 1-12.
