In Monday's non-league match, the host Marion Scarlet Hurricanes softball team scored a tight 6-4 win over the Northwood Panthers.

The Scarlet Hurricanes (7-9) will now prepare for their match against Richlands (Richlands, VA). The Blue Tornado come into the Southwest match with a 8-6 record. In their last match, Richlands nipped Grundy (Grundy, VA), 22-10, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Patrick Henry Rebels (Glade Spring, VA) in a Hogoheegee match, on Tuesday, April 29. Northwood will attempt to better on its 4-7 season record. The Rebels come into the match with a 3-8 record after their 6-1 league loss to Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA).
