The McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM) softball nipped the visiting Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), 8-7 in Monday's non-league outing.

The Bobcats now possess a 8-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mora for a A/2A District 2/5 battle on Wednesday, April 30. McCurdy will confront a Rangers/Rangerettes team coming off a 19-4 non-league win over Clayton (Clayton, NM). The Rangers/Rangerettes record now stands at 17-4.

With the loss, Wingate moves to 10-4 on the season. The Bears travel to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM) to confront the Cougars in a 3A District 1 battle on Tuesday, April 29. The Cougars come into the battle with a record of 8-11. Tohatchi lost 13-11 in their recent league battle against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
