The Southern Cayuga Chiefs softball team scored 26 runs and held the host Newfield Trojans to 3 in the Chiefs non-league win on Monday.

The Chiefs now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Groton for a Section 4 Interscholastic - North Small battle on Wednesday, April 30. Southern Cayuga will confront a Red Hawks team coming off a 10-3 league win over Marathon (Marathon, NY). The Red Hawks record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Newfield drops to 0-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Marathon (Marathon, NY) to battle the Olympians in a non-league match on Tuesday, April 29. The Olympians go into the match with a record of 1-5. Marathon lost 10-3 in their recent league match against Groton (Groton, NY)
