The Athens/PORTA Warriors held off the visiting Auburn Trojans soccer squad by a margin of 1-0 in Friday's non-league match.
The Warriors now sport a 16-4 record. They play next when they host Pleasant Plains/New Berlin for a Sangamo match on Monday, May 2. Athens/PORTA will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Williamsville (Williamsville, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 15-4.
With the loss, Auburn drops to 7-16 on the season. The Trojans travel to Lutheran (Springfield, IL) to encounter the Crusaders in a non-league match on Thursday, May 5. The Crusaders come into the match with a record of 2-9.
