Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) supporters were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Buckin' Elks confront the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a Northwest 1A challenge, on Tuesday, May 3. Elkin will attempt to move on its 11-2 season record. The Granite Bears enter the challenge with a 13-1 record after their 3-2 league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC).

The Cardinals now possess a 4-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Starmount for a Northwest 1A challenge on Thursday, May 5.
