Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 8-7 in a league test.

With the win, Topsail upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Pirates host South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to battle the Cougars in a test on Tuesday, May 3. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 1-8. South Brunswick lost 4-0 in their recent league test against Hoggard (Wilmington, NC)

With the defeat, North Brunswick falls to 7-10 on the season. The Scorpions travel to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC) to battle the Trojans in a test on Tuesday, May 3. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 3-8. West Brunswick lost 7-5 in their recent league battle against New Hanover (Wilmington, NC)
