Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Amherst Central Tigers (Amherst, NY), 20-8 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Amherst Central for a Section 6 Erie County II challenge on Monday, May 16.

With the loss, Amherst Central falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Sweet Home (Amherst, NY) to face the Panthers in a Section 6 Erie County II challenge on Monday, May 2. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Sweet Home won 12-4 in their recent league challenge against Amherst Central (Amherst, NY)
