The Appleton North Lightning softball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Appleton East Patriots to 8 in the Lightning league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Appleton North moves its record to 1-3 on the year. The Lightning travel to Oshkosh North (Oshkosh, WI) to play the Spartans in a Fox Valley Association game on Tuesday, May 3. The Spartans come into the game with a record of 4-5. Oshkosh North lost 3-0 in their recent league game against Oshkosh West (Oshkosh, WI)

In their next game, the Patriots play the Bay Port Pirates (Green Bay, WI) in a non-league game, on Saturday, April 30. Appleton East will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record. The Pirates come into the game with a 11-1 record after their 6-4 league loss to Ashwaubenon (Green Bay, WI).
