Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) and the visiting Washington Panthers (Washington, IL), witnessed Bloomington's softball squad tip Washington by a count of 1-0.

The Purple Raiders now sport a 15-4 record. They play next when they travel to Danville for a Big Twelve match on Tuesday, May 3. Bloomington will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Normal West (Normal, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Washington moves to 15-5 on the season. The Panthers travel to Dunlap (Dunlap, IL) to meet the Eagles in a Mid-Illini match on Tuesday, May 3. The Eagles go into the match with a record of 8-14.
