Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Radford for a Three Rivers challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Carroll County will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 18-4 league loss to Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Bobcats record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Glenvar moves to 4-5 on the season. The Highlanders host James River (Buchanan, VA) to face the Knights in a Three Rivers match on Monday, May 2. The Knights go into the match with a record of 11-1. James River won 5-0 in their recent league match against Floyd County (Floyd, VA)
