Edwards-Knox Cougars (Russell, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Lisbon Central Golden Knights (Lisbon, NY), 19-4 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Heuvelton Central for a Section 10 West challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Edwards-Knox will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-5 non-league loss to Bishop Kearney (Rochester, NY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Lisbon Central falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Golden knights travel to Morristown Central (Morristown, NY) to face the Rockets in a Section 10 West challenge on Monday, May 2. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
