Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) supporters left the game in high spirits Friday as they observed their softball team thwart the host Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), 20-0 in a league contest.

With the triumph, Fort Chiswell moves its record to 12-1 on the year. The Pioneers host Auburn (Riner, VA) to play the Eagles in a Mountain Empire contest on Monday, May 2. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 5-2.

In their next game, the Spartans play the Narrows Green Waves (Narrows, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, May 2. Giles will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record.
