Los Gatos Wildcats (Los Gatos, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Homestead Mustangs (Cupertino, CA), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 20-2 record. They take the field next when they host Milpitas for a De Anza challenge on Wednesday, May 4. Los Gatos will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Homestead (Cupertino, CA). The Trojans record now stands at 15-6.

With the loss, Homestead falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Wilcox (Santa Clara, CA) to battle the Chargers in a De Anza challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 9-13. Wilcox lost 8-5 in their recent league challenge against Los Altos (Los Altos, CA)
