Riverbend Bears (Fredericksburg, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Massaponax Panthers (Spotsylvania, VA), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 13-1 record. They take the field next when they host Brooke Point for a Commonwealth challenge on Monday, May 2. Riverbend will face a Black Hawks squad coming off a 13-3 league loss to Stafford (Falmouth, VA). The Black Hawks record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Massaponax falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Brooke Point (Stafford, VA) to face the Black Hawks in a Commonwealth challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Black Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 3-10. Brooke Point lost 8-4 in their recent league challenge against Riverbend (Fredericksburg, VA)
