New York High School Softball - Nichols nudges Mount St. Mary Academy

Nichols Vikings (Buffalo, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mount St. Mary Academy Thunder (Kenmore, NY), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hamburg for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 30. Nichols will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 8-5 league loss to West Seneca West (West Seneca, NY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Mount St. Mary Academy falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Thunder travel to Sacred Heart Academy (Buffalo, NY) to face the Sharks in a Monsignor Martin challenge on Thursday, May 5. The Sharks enter the challenge with a record of 3-4.
