The North Boone Vikings got by the host Rockford Christian Royal Lions softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Friday's league battle.

The Vikings (14-4) will now prepare for their battle against Winnebago (Winnebago, IL). The Indians go into the Big Northern battle with a 4-8 record. In their last battle, Winnebago was edged by Stillman Valley (Stillman Valley, IL), 12-4, in a league battle.

The Royal Lions now sport a 0-12 record. They play next when they host Byron for a Big Northern battle on Monday, May 2. Rockford Christian will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Dixon (Dixon, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 6-10.
