Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 10-1 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now sport a 14-4 record. They take the field next when they host South Brunswick for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Topsail will face a Cougars squad coming off a 15-1 league loss to Hoggard (Wilmington, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 13-5.

With the loss, North Brunswick falls to 3-16 on the campaign. The Scorpions host West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC) to face the Trojans in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 4-14. West Brunswick lost 12-1 in their recent league challenge against Laney (Wilmington, NC)
