Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Terryville Kangaroos (Terryville, CT), 18-0 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they host Granby Memorial for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2. Northwestern Regional will face a Bears squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to Somers (Somers, CT). The Bears record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Terryville falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Kangaroos host Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT) to face the Spartans in a Berkshire challenge on Monday, May 2. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Shepaug Valley lost 4-0 in their recent league challenge against Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT)
