Pine Grove Cardinals (Pine Grove, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tamaqua Blue Raiders (Tamaqua, PA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now sport a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Pottsville for a Schuylkill I challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Pine Grove will face a Crimson Tide squad coming off a 9-8 league win over Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA). The Crimson Tide record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Tamaqua falls to 5-10 on the campaign. The Blue raiders host Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA) to face the Red Raiders in a Schuylkill I challenge on Tuesday, May 3. The Red Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 6-7. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional won 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Weatherly (Weatherly, PA)
