Spectators at Saturday's league battle between the Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) and the host Franklin Monroe Jets (Pitsburg, OH), saw Newton Local's baseball squad knock off Franklin Monroe by a count of 4-1.

Coming up next, the Indians play the Arcanum Trojans (Arcanum, OH) in a Western Ohio Athletic battle, on Tuesday, May 2. Newton Local will attempt to move on its 11-2 season record. The Trojans enter the battle with a 10-4 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Franklin (Franklin, OH).
