Nantucket Whalers (Nantucket, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Martha's Vineyard Regional Vineyarders (Oak Bluffs, MA), 20-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Whalers now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dennis-Yarmouth Regional for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Nantucket will battle a Dolphins squad coming off a 21-3 league win over Sandwich (East Sandwich, MA). The Dolphins record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Martha's Vineyard Regional falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Vineyarders host Boston English (Boston, MA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Boston English lost 21-0 in their recent non-league challenge against East Boston (East Boston, MA)
