Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans (Woodhull, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Monmouth United Red Storm (Monmouth, IL), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stark County for a Lincoln Trail challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will face a Rebels squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to ROWVA/Williamsfield (Oneida, IL). The Rebels record now stands at 8-17.

With the loss, Monmouth United falls to 1-13 on the season. The Red storm host Bushnell-Prairie City (Bushnell, IL) to meet the Spartans in a non-league battle on Tuesday, May 2. The Spartans go into the battle with a record of 3-14. Bushnell-Prairie City lost 5-1 in their recent non-league battle against Illini West (Carthage, IL)
