The New Kent Trojans softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting Smithfield Packers to 4 in the Trojans league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, New Kent improves its record to 11-3 on the year. The Trojans travel to Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA) to clash with the Rams in a Bay Rivers game on Wednesday, May 3. In their next game, the Packers clash with the Grafton Clippers (Yorktown, VA) in a Bay Rivers game, on Monday, May 1. Smithfield will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Clippers come into the game with a 9-3 record after their 7-4 non-league win over Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA).
