Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Middlesboro Yellowjackets (Middlesboro, KY) and the visiting Cumberland Gap Panthers (Cumberland Gap, TN), witnessed Middlesboro's softball squad tip Cumberland Gap by a count of 7-4.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Harlan County for a District 52 match on Thursday, May 2. Middlesboro will meet a Black Bears squad coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to South Laurel (London, KY). The Black Bears record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, Cumberland Gap moves to 2-11 on the season. The Panthers host Anderson County (Clinton, TN) to meet the Mavericks in a 3A District 4 match on Wednesday, May 1. The Mavericks go into the match with a record of 8-19. Anderson County lost 16-8 in their recent non-league match against Powell (Powell, TN)
