The East Ridge Warriors softball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Prestonsburg Blackcats to 6 in the Warriors non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, East Ridge improves its record to 9-9 on the year. The Warriors host Pikeville (Pikeville, KY) to clash with the Panthers in a District 59 game on Wednesday, May 1. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 12-7.

In their next game, the Blackcats clash with the Floyd Central Jaguars (Eastern, KY) in a District 58 outing, on Tuesday, April 30. Prestonsburg will attempt to improve on its 6-13 season record. The Jaguars enter the outing with a 10-5 record after their 17-1 league win over Betsy Layne (Betsy Layne, KY).
