Sonora Wildcats (Sonora, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mariposa County Grizzlies (Mariposa, CA), 7-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 18-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bret Harte for a Mother Lode League challenge on Wednesday, May 1. Sonora will face a Bullfrogs squad coming off a 9-1 league loss to Argonaut (Jackson, CA). The Bullfrogs record now stands at 6-11.

With the loss, Mariposa County falls to 11-9 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Ripon Christian (Ripon, CA) to face the Knights in a Southern Athletic League challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 4-12. Ripon Christian won 14-3 in their recent league challenge against Waterford (Waterford, CA)
