In Monday's league contest, the West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA) softball team overwhelmed the host Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), by a margin of 9-2.

With the triumph, West Allegheny moves its record to 8-1 on the year. The Indians host South Fayette (McDonald, PA) to play the Lions in a WPIAL 5A 3 contest on Wednesday, May 1. The Lions come into the contest with a record of 9-2.

In their next game, the Fightin' Planets play the Fox Chapel Foxes (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, May 1. Mars will attempt to move on its 5-10 season record.
