Newfound Regional Bears (Bristol, NH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Winnisquam Bears (Tilton, NH), 14-7 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stevens for a Division III challenge on Wednesday, May 1. Newfound Regional will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 23-2 league loss to Monadnock (East Swanzey, NH). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Winnisquam falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Bears host Mascoma (Canaan, NH) to battle the Royals in a Division III challenge on Wednesday, May 1. The Royals enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Mascoma lost 18-3 in their recent league challenge against St. Thomas Aquinas (Dover, NH)
