The Sun Valley Vanguards got by the visiting Oxford Hornets softball squad by a final score of 5-4 in Monday's league battle.

The Vanguards (6-7) will now prepare for their battle against Downingtown West (Downingtown, PA). The Whippets go into the Ches-Mont battle with a 15-0 record. In their last battle, Downingtown West nudged Coatesville (Coatesville, PA), 4-1, in a league battle.

The Hornets now possess a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Downingtown East for a Ches-Mont battle on Wednesday, May 1. Oxford will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Avon Grove (West Grove, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 13-1.
