The Pioneers now own a 13-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southeast for a Greater Wichita City challenge on Monday, May 5. West will clash with a Golden Buffalo team coming off a 17-5 league win over South (Wichita, KS). The Golden Buffalo record now stands at 4-10.

With the defeat, Emporia drops to 8-7 on the year. The Spartans travel to Iola (Iola, KS) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 2. The Mustangs go into the challenge with a record of 13-6. Iola won 1-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Parsons (Parsons, KS)
