Council Cobras (Council, VA) supporters left the game pleased Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY), 9-7 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Council improves its record to 6-4 on the year. The Cobras host Grundy (Grundy, VA) to play the Golden Wave in a Black Diamond game on Tuesday, May 6. The Golden Wave enter the game with a record of 0-5.

The Hornets now hold a 0-12 record. They play next when they host Mount View for a non-league game on Thursday, May 1. Phelps will play a Golden Knights squad coming off a 9-7 non-league loss to Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV). The Golden Knights record now stands at 15-7.
