In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Union Pines Vikings softball team scored a tight 7-4 win over the Hoke County Bucks.

The Vikings (17-8) will now prepare for their match against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC). The Fighting Scots come into the Sandhills 3A/4A match with a 22-1 record. In their last match, Scotland nipped Richmond (Rockingham, NC), 15-0, in a non-league match.
