The Johnston Panthers softball team scored 16 runs and held the host Mt. Hope Huskies to 0 in the Panthers league win on Tuesday.

The Panthers now possess a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Portsmouth for a Division 2 battle on Thursday, May 1. Johnston will confront a Patriots team coming off a 14-5 league loss to West Warwick (West Warwick, RI). The Patriots record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Mt. Hope moves to 1-9 on the season. The Huskies host North Providence (North Providence, RI) to confront the Cougars in a battle on Thursday, May 1. The Cougars come into the battle with a record of 1-7. North Providence lost 17-1 in their recent non-league battle against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI)
