Illinois High School Softball - Freeport sneaks past Rockford Auburn

April 29, 2026: Freeport, IL 61032

In Wednesday's league match, the host Freeport Pretzels softball team scored a tight 8-7 win over the Rockford Auburn Knights.

The Pretzels (11-10) will now prepare for their match against Belvidere (Belvidere, IL). The Buccaneers come into the Northern Illinois NIC-9 match with a 11-10 record. In their last match, Belvidere nipped Boylan Catholic (Rockford, IL), 9-6, in a league match.

In their next game, the Knights battle the Jefferson J-Hawks (Rockford, IL) in a Northern Illinois NIC-9 match, on Thursday, April 30. Rockford Auburn will attempt to better on its 5-12 season record. The J-Hawks come into the match with a 0-8 record after their 16-0 league loss to Hononegah (Rockton, IL).
