Bridgeport Bulldogs (Bridgeport, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Madonna Blue Dons (Weirton, WV), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shadyside for a Ohio Valley Athletic AA challenge on Wednesday, April 5. Bridgeport will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Frontier (New Matamoras, OH). The Tigers record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Madonna falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Blue dons host Beaver (Lisbon, OH) to battle the Beavers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Beavers enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Beaver lost 14-4 in their recent league challenge against Indian Creek (Wintersville, OH)
