Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host DuQuoin Indians (DuQuoin, IL), 11-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they host Anna-Jonesboro for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Carterville will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Nashville (Nashville, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-1.

With the loss, DuQuoin falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL) to battle the Panthers in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 4-2.
