Northgate Flames (Pittsburgh, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Cornell Raiders (Coraopolis, PA), 22-1 in a league challenge.

The Flames now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union Area for a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Northgate will battle a Scotties squad coming off a 14-2 league win over Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Scotties record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Cornell falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Raiders host Avella (Avella, PA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 6. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Avella lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Chartiers-Houston (Houston, PA)
