Holy Cross Crusaders (Dunmore, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lakeland Chiefs (Jermyn, PA), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Crusaders now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Riverside for a Lackawanna 3 challenge on Wednesday, April 5. Holy Cross will face a Vikings squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Western Wayne (Lake Ariel, PA). The Vikings record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Honesdale (Honesdale, PA) to face the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 5. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Honesdale lost 12-2 in their recent league challenge against Dunmore (Dunmore, PA)
