Illinois High School Softball - Murphysboro bounces Massac County

April 3, 2023: Metropolis, IL 62960

Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL), 11-6 in a league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Herrin for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio contest on Tuesday, April 4. Murphysboro will play a Tigers team coming off a 14-3 league loss to Benton (Benton, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 4-7.

Next, the Patriots battle the Harrisburg Bulldogs (Harrisburg, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge, on Tuesday, April 4. Massac County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 5-0 league loss to Frankfort (West Frankfort, IL).
