Virginia High School Baseball - Lakeland nipped by Western Branch

Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) fans left the game pleased Thursday as they observed their baseball squad nip the host Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 5-4 in a league match.

With the triumph, Western Branch advances its record to 6-0 on the season. The Bruins travel to King's Fork (Suffolk, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a Southeastern game on Tuesday, April 8. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 1-3. King's Fork lost 12-2 in their recent non-league game against Phoebus (Hampton, VA)

Next, the Cavaliers play the Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) in a Southeastern outing, on Tuesday, April 8. Lakeland will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record. The Warriors come into the outing with a 2-4 record after their 11-3 league win over Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA).
