Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Batesburg-Leesville Panthers (Batesburg, SC), 2-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Strom Thurmond advances its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Saluda (Saluda, SC) to clash with the Tigers in a AA Region 2 test on Tuesday, April 22. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 5-6.
The Panthers now have a 3-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ninety Six for a AA Region 2 test on Tuesday, April 8. Batesburg-Leesville will clash with a Wildcats team coming off a 11-0 league win over Pelion (Pelion, SC). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-2.
