Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA) and the visiting Riverside Rams (Chattaroy, WA), saw Newport's soccer squad hold off Riverside by a count of 3-2.

The Grizzlies (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against Colville (Colville, WA). The Crimson Hawks enter the 1A Northeast battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Colville was edged by Medical Lake (Medical Lake, WA), 3-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Rams battle the Shadle Park Highlanders (Spokane, WA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, April 4. Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Highlanders enter the battle with a 2-7 record after their 9-0 league loss to Lewis & Clark (Spokane, WA).
