In Thursday's non-league match, the host John Paul II Golden Warrriors softball team scored a tight 7-3 win over the Cross Stingrays.

The Golden Warrriors (1-2) will now prepare for their match against Laurence Manning Academy (Manning, SC). The Swampcats come into the SCISA AAAA Region III match with a 12-2 record. In their last match, Laurence Manning Academy was routed by Pee Dee Academy (Mullins, SC), 7-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Stingrays battle the Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels (Ridgeland, SC) in a SCISA AA Region III bout, on Friday, April 4. Cross will attempt to advance on its 7-4 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 14-3 non-league loss to Dorchester Academy (St. George, SC).
