The Mapleton Mounties nudged the host Black River Pirates baseball team by a tally of 11-10 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Mounties now hold a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they host Crestview for a Firelands bout on Monday, May 2. Mapleton will face a Cougars team coming off a 7-4 league win over New London (New London, OH). The Cougars record now stands at 8-7.
Next, the Pirates face the Wellington Dukes (Wellington, OH) in a Lorain County 8 game, on Monday, May 2. Black River will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Dukes go into the game with a 7-5 record after their 23-0 league win over Oberlin (Oberlin, OH).
