The Smithville Warriors baseball team scored 7 runs and limited the visiting Pleasant Hill Roosters/Chicks to 2 in the Warriors non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Warriors (15-11) will now prepare for their match against Kearney (Kearney, MO). The Bulldogs go into the Class 5 District 8 match with a 20-7 record. In their last match, Kearney edged Winnetonka (Kansas City, MO), 9-1, in a league match.
The Roosters/Chicks (9-11) will now prepare for their match against Lafayette (St. Joseph, MO). The Fighting Irish come into the non-league challenge with a 9-6 record. In their last challenge, Lafayette was overwhelmed by Benton (St. Joseph, MO), 15-0, in a league challenge.
