James River Knights (Buchanan, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA), 11-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now own a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glenvar for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 1. James River will battle a Highlanders squad coming off a 13-9 non-league loss to Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 0-10.

With the loss, Carroll County falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to battle the Buffaloes in a challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Buffaloes enter the challenge with a record of 6-7. Floyd County lost 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Patrick County (Stuart, VA)
