Spring Lake Park Panthers (Spring Lake Park, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Centennial Cougars (Circle Pines, MN), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Andover for a Northwest Suburban challenge on Thursday, May 2. Spring Lake Park will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 9-7 league win over Coon Rapids (Coon Rapids, MN). The Huskies record now stands at 10-1.

With the loss, Centennial falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Cougars host Totino-Grace (Fridley, MN) to battle the Eagles in a Northwest Suburban challenge on Thursday, May 2. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-12. Totino-Grace lost 15-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Kennedy (Bloomington, MN)
