Fairdale Bulldogs (Fairdale, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Portland Christian Eagles (Louisville, KY), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 14-6 record. They take the field next when they host Holy Cross for a District 21 challenge on Wednesday, May 1. Fairdale will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Breckinridge County (Harned, KY). The Cougars record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Portland Christian falls to 13-8 on the campaign. The Eagles host Presentation (Louisville, KY) to battle the Toppers in a District 25 challenge on Wednesday, May 1. The Toppers enter the challenge with a record of 2-8. Presentation lost 13-12 in their recent league challenge against Central (Louisville, KY)
