Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Terryville for a Berkshire challenge on Monday, May 6.

With the loss, Gilbert falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Housatonic-Wamogo (Falls Village, CT) to battle the Mountaineers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 3-4.
